Workshops

We have been running our workshops in the studio now for over three years. For the past year we have additionally run Photoshop courses at West Dean College. In 2018 we will be running a screen-printing short-course at West Dean in addition to our Photoshop course. As a result, in order to have time for her own creative practice and exhibitions, Sam's October Screen-printing workshop, will be the last she is will run in our studio until 2019.

....................................................................................................................................................................................

Our workshops are intensive introductory courses, designed to enable participants to gain skills in either Screen-Printing or Photoshop for textiles. The focus is on individual learning therefore the number of places on each course is limited to three (Photoshop) and three (Screen-Printing) so that there is space and time to learn with expert guidance.

Workshop: Textile Screen Printing Masterclass

Tutor: Sam Pickard

Venue: Sam's Studio, South Molton, Devon
(A beautiful market town on the edge of Exmoor)

Course Description: This two day Workshop covers the translation
of your drawings onto film positives, colour separations, coating and exposing silk screens and experimental screen-printing. It is an intensive two days during which you will be experimenting using furnishing fabrics to either make your own home furnishings such as cushions or develop your own textile project if you wish. The small group size will ensure you can fully explore your creativity and get the full benefit of Sam's considerable skill set.

Some people have come to refresh their skills; some as a starting point to set up their own business; others just to be inspired using a different medium!

The group size is normally three, but can be extended to four for a group booking.

It is helpful if you have some drawing/design ability, but not essential.
